As part of the training program of a new generation of students and researchers in the field of interethnic relations, researchers of the Forum for Ethnic Relations, together with Forum Coordinator Nenad Djurdjevic, visited Kosovo. The group visited various institutions and talked with representatives of the Kosovo Government and Assembly, non-governmental organizations and media as well as with the officials of the international community and the Serbian Orthodox Church. They got a clear picture of the situation on the ground and of the practical challenges in resolving ethnic conflicts in Kosovo. This experience will be an important basis for their further work in the field of interethnic relations.
The researchers had a chance to talk to Mr. Thomas Gnocchi, Head of Political, Economic and EU Integration Section at the EU Office in Kosovo, Kosovo Minister Nenad Rašić, Kosovo Assembly Representative and President of the Serbian Democratic Party of Kosovo and Metohija Saša Đokić, president of the MP group Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Ardiana Dinija, Professor of the University of Pristina Anton Berisa, President of the American University in Kosovo, Iljiro Deda from the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development, and director of TV Mir from Leposavic, Nenad Radosavljevic.
The researchers will soon publish their observations, impressions and conclusions from their research in Kosovo in a form of reports, which will be published at the Forum’s website.
